Launch another program from a link?

You can link to an an .exe (or any other executable), but the visitor will
_always_ be asked what they want to do with the file. This is a security
feature and is by design.

The same behavior will happen regardless of what application you use to
build your website (FP, Dreamweaver, Notepad, etc.) or what browser you use
to view it (IE, Netscape, Mozilla, Safari, etc.). It is not a limitation of
using FrontPage.

Are you asking if you can create a link that will launch a program on a
webpage created with FrontPage? If so, which program do you want to launch?
Personally, I'd rather not have that happen on MY computer - other than
Acrobat or something like that. Other programs starting without my actions
concern me from a security point of view.

Hi JoAnn & all,

The original problem was that I had a link to a GIF which
is very big. When it is shown in IE 6, it is resizing it.
If I change the settings in Tools->Internet Options to
Disable Image Resizing under Multimedia, the picture is
fine. The problem was then to print it. It cuts the
picture to what fits to one page only.

I was then thinking to launch another program, but that not
seem to good either...

Thanks,

You can't stop it from resizing on my computer. (At least I don't think you
can. I am under the impression that it's a setting on the end viewers
sytem.). And I actually like that feature.

If it's your .gif, why not just make it physically smaller?

Hi,

The picture needs to be that big, since it is containing a
lot of info. I will see what Acrobat Writer can do...
Thanks,

Yes you can with a VBA macro, but then I've not sure that is what Atilla is asking. I believe Atilla wishes to know if it can be
done from a web page created with FP. The answer is still yes but you have to use a .hta extension with code.
