Launch Powerpoint Template from Word

Is there a way to launch a Powerpoint template from Word using VBA? We have
a standardized Powerpoint template we want to make easily available to users.
When they need it, I would like them to be able to click on a toolbar button
to launch it. We currently do that with some Excel workbooks. Unfortunately
my VBA coding is not good enough to figure this one out. Any and all
assistance would be appreciated.

Thank in advance!

You don't need VBA.

Within your Word document, click on Insert, Object, Create from file, and
browse and choose your template. Click ok.

Include instructions to right click on the presentation template picture,
left click on Presentation Object, left click on Open.

The presentation template will open in PowerPoint. This has the added bonus
of creating a single file that contains both the Word document and the
Presentation Template and the main presentation template is pretty safe from
being changed.

Thank you for your response. I was hoping for a more simplistic approach of
being able to assign a macro to a toolbar that users could click once to open
the template in Powerpoint. Your method links the Powerpoint template to a
Word document which is not needed. If you delete the Word document, the
Powerpoint template closes and edits are not saved. I was able to record
your steps in a macro, but, as mentioned above, I am left with a Word
document with an object I do not need. Any assistance you can provide to
simplify this procees would really be appreciated. Thanks again.

Thank you Steve, I will give it a try!

ShellExecute the POT file the template's stored in.

PPT's default behavior when you do this should be to start a new blank presentation
based on the template.
