Launching ~Outlook Express

I have Apple Mac Powerbook and had installed Outlook Express 5.0 MAC version.
I have been using this for last three years without any problem.

Suddenly my Outlook Express is not launching and the error says:

END OF FILE REACHED

Can you please help? I cannot afford to loose all the data on my Outlook
Express. Please advise me on all the possibilities either to rectify this
error or to retrieve the data from the harddrive.
