Launching outlook plays default sound over and over and

Installed MS Outlook 2002 on my wifes laptop and whenever
she opens it, the default sound plays with about a 10
second interval. Tried simply disable the sound and the PC
beep goes off over and over.
Upgraded to 2003 same exact problem
Haven't had any problem on any other machines....anyone
have a clue as to the fix for this one?
