Lazy Keyboard Response to Office 2003 in Vista

Hi, gang. Just installed Office 2003 in a new machine with Vista and all
Service Packs downloaded. Office apps (all that I've tried) are 'lazy' in
responding to keyboard and/or mouse like it's asleep and unable to keep up.
This is true with the original OEM keyboard/mouse as well the wireless/USB
mouse. Other apps work fine. Is there a setting that I've missed?
