LDAP error message

Whenever I try and validate an email address I get the following error
message:-

LDAP Server Error

A connection failure has occurred.

Error -3260

Any ideas?

Hi Robin,

The following, from 2 previous posts, may help:

1) Things to check:
Are you connecting to an Exchange 2000 server?
Ask your admin for the Global Catalog Active Directory server. That is
what you want to use for LDAP in Entourage

2) i was able to connect to a ldap server not using the standard port 389
but 3268.

We are not using the Global Catalogue but get our address's through an NT
server I think with a limited LDAP capability.

I understand this may limit my address lookup but it should not be giving me
problems with calendar should it?

My IT say we are using normal LDAP port but not with any degree of
confidence.
