Leading Zero & Apostrophe - Help

Y

Yvonne

When entering 07 I put an apostrophe in front to ensure the leading zero
stayed in place. For some reason I can't do this now when I put an
apostrophe in front in makes no difference, so I get 7. To my knowledge
nothing has changed
How do I turn it back on?
Please don't advise me to Right Click Format Cells, I want to be able to use
the apostrophe '07
Thanks in advance

I doubt anyone will advise you to do much of anything since you didn't
bother to mention what version of Excel you're using or what operating
system you're running it on... Little things like that make a difference :)

Also, the source of your message suggests that you're using a Windows system
but you've posted to the group for Excel on the Macintosh -- note the .mac.
in the group address. It isn't at all that you aren't welcome here but this
could well be OS-related. You'll find the Win Office groups listed at:

http://www.microsoft.com/office/community/en-us/FlyoutOverview.mspx

If you are on a Mac please provide complete Office & OS version info.
