Hi,

I want to learn VB/VBA, anyone know where I can get what I need in
order to start? Is there anything free out there that will allow me to
learn the basics?
Thanks

Hi Jan,
To be honest, I dont even know what 'vba for ms project is'.
I am just at a stage in my life where I want to learn more about
computers and programming.
I have done a little LISP via autocad & have a general gist of batch files.
The vba manager in autocad does have an interface, but it doesnt have
a tutorial, whereas on the net I can find many tutorials but no actual unit
to practise them on or follow the tutorial.......... hope that makes
sense.

Hi,

This newsgroup is in fact devoted to VBA for Microsoft Project.
VBA is always embedded in an application (hence the name).
Personally many years ago I found a good book in the Using... series of
Quecorp.
There is a download for the specifics of VBA re Microsoft Project, but I
doubt whether that is what you are looking for.
Isn't there a newsgroup for VBA as such?

Jan:

I think there's a VBA topical group specific to each application, but I'm
not aware of a "general" VBA group for basics. By the way, our very own Rod
Gill has authored a new book on VBA Programming for Project that has a good
tutorial on VBA basics. I'd recommend it to the poster, but it won't be
available until September.

Gary: I'm interested in Rod Gill's book. How can I get the book when it
becomes available?

Thanks,
