Leaving e-mail marked as unread until it has been opened

I used to have my e-mail (outlook) set up to leave an e-mail as unread until
you've opened it but it won't do that now. I'm not sure what is different
about how I have it set up now. About a month ago, I restored my computer to
its original state and reloaded all of my programs. Since then, I've been
having this problem.

Care to state your Outlook version? The usual culprit is either the Preview
or Reading Pane settings, but how to find then is version-dependent. Try
Tools>Options>Other
