leaving off the www while making links,,,2nd try

I am using FP 2003 for XP to relocate and change links on some webpages.
When I
make a link by going to the hyperlink icon it leaves the www off in the URL.
Am I creating the links the proper way, what should I be doing different? As
far as I can tell the links still work, or at least on my computer but I
don't know if they will work on everyones computer. Why is it that the www
doesn't show up on my computer?
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong, or does it even matter?
Thanks for the help,
Tom

Links to files "within" your web will be relative
links and do not require the http://www
Links to items outside of your web, to another
website for example, are absolute links and
require the http://www

Thanks for the reply,
Would the www not being in the url, hinder it from being seen in search
engines?
