Left margin frozen at 6 inches

Dan Simpson

I'm requesting this help via proxy from someone else, but I
have access to the computer as well.

One of our CPA's has had this problem for about a week now,
her left margin is frozen at about 6 inches. She was using
Excel 2000, so we thought it would be in her best interest
to upgrade to 2k3, thinking that it would correct the
problem. It hasn't. We've gone over all of her settings,
and the left margin field isn't editable. When we click and
drag, the margin stays.

Obviously we've missed something, I've searched the
Knowledge Base extensively, searched the newsgroups since
January, etc.

Heres some screenshots to highlight the problem. I
commented on the pictures.

If you want, send the workbook to me or post a link to it (such as you did
with the screen shots), after removing sensitive data. DO NOT send to the ng

I would install another printer driver. Not necessarily even for a printer
that is available, maybe something totally different. Then make that the
default printer and try page setup. If margins are okay then it would seem
to be a driver issue.
