Left Mouse click stops working on multi-select list box

I've had this happen to two of my users so far. We are using Access 2007.
with a 2003 database (cant convert yet as not all users are on 2007). I
have a series of 4 multi-select listboxes that build dynamic queries for
filtering data. The user can be using the system just fine then they will no
longer be able to select anything in the list boxes with the mouse. Other
buttons and features work just find just no multi-select list boxes? If they
right click it will select items. Once this happens it will stay "Stuck"
even after a reboot. I was able to get one of the users working again after
opening and closing the mouse properties from the control panel...

any ideas?
