Left/Right Margin Graphic?

J

James

I am trying to insert a graphic on the outer edges [left or right] of my Word
2003 document [kinda like the one along the bottom of this web page] and am
not able to get it in there without destroying any existing text. This
graphic will reside out of the left or right margin as needed. This will be
a booklet when competed and I need these "edge" graphics to spruce up the
document. I would like for this work like the footer and header feature
works but for the sides of the page and not the header or footer. Any help
on this would be greatly appreciated.

In the Format Picture dialog, select the Layout tab. Choose a wrapping other
than In Line With Text, then click on Advanced... "Book layout" will allow
you to set the graphic as Inside or Outside.

If you have graphics you want to repeat on every page, the easiest way to do
the layout is to use the "Different odd and even" setting for your header
and footer. Anchor your graphic (set Behind Text) to the Odd Page Footer and
Even Page Footer in the appropriate location for each. They can appear
anywhere on the page; as long as they are anchored to the footer paragraph,
they will appear on every page.
