legal-sized pdf?

Working in Word 2011 on Mac 10.7.4. I'm creating a multi-page program to hand out at a drama we're performing. It's printed on legal-sized paper, landscape view (sideways), folded in half, with two printed pages on each sheet, e.g., page 2 on the left and 3 on the right. Hope I described that clearly. Saved it in .pdf. When I tried to print it it printed letter-sized, not legal. How do I save a legal-sized .pdf?

Tom, did you use the Save as...PDF command from within Word? I just
tried that with a wide Word file and it saved as 8.5x14 just fine.
I'm on Snow Leopard, not Lion; dunno whether that would matter.
