It's an automated pet feeder. The top piece is supposed to rotate
one-eighth of a turn clockwise at mealtime, exposing a pie shaped bin with
that meal's food loaded into it. The cat in the video has discovered how to
rotate the top piece anticlockwise, exposing meals ahead of time. He gets
ahead of himself though, and has to keep turning it to prevent missing a
meal. I have another video of him pounding his paw on the top of the
machine, like a little fist. Another where he is jumping up and down on it.

Cheers,

Earle
