letter - fill in the blanks issue

I have created a letter template for the first time - and i used a site
referenced on the discussion board to insert text boxes for my letter
variables.

i want the end user to be able to open this template and be prompted with
each of these variables to enter, and then be able to print the letter. I
have also used two REF items.

When i open the letter I see the gray boxes, but what is needed to prompt
the user to enter info in each of these boxes?

It sounds like you have used text form fields, whereas you would probably
have been better served by ASK or Macrobutton fields
