Letters overlap in PowerPoint 2007

I have been using PowerPoint 2007 all afternoon. Somehow, something has
become corrupted. The letters in my text boxes are overlapping in random
places. For example, if I type "flash", I see the "f" and the "l" have
overlapped. Sometimes, the entire word is overlapped onto itself, so that a
word, like "however" is just a pile of overlapping letters. Sometimes, it is
an entire line. There is no pattern to it and it affects ALL of the slides.

I have tried to reset the font formatting, but that doesn't correct the
problem. I have tried to change the font globally several times to see if
another font corrects the problem, but no joy.

I think that I might have run into a bug in the program. Bummer!

Any suggestions of what else I can try?

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, that did not solve my problem. I have a
Microsoft certified printer driver.

I did "solve" the problem, however, but it is a bit like lighting a redwood
tree to start a cigarette. I reinstalled Office 2007 and the problem went
away -- at least, for now.

I see that other people are reporting this problem on other forums.
Something is a twitchy about the new Office version.

Other than that, which admittedly is a big problem, I really like the new
PowerPoint.

Ciao!
