Licence

I have Office XP pro loaded as OEM on my laptop, and
would like to upgrade my desktop (currently Office 2000
Pro) to the same program. I have the disks, but if I try
to activate it, it tells me it is already activated on a
different computer.

Is it possible to do this "dual" installation without
having to purchase an additional licence? Can the second
instance be activated over the net, or just by phone?

Thanks

Forget it. You have to buy a new copy.

Nope - you *MUST* purchase an additional licence. An OEM licence is tied to
the first computer it's installed on (usually the one it was supplied with)
and is tied to that system forever, no matter what fate befalls it.

If you purchase a retail Office XP licence now, you will be entitled to a
free upgrade to Office 2003 once it goes retail. You will need proof of
purchase, so retain your receipt.
