I have Office Professional 2003 Academic version and I'm having a bit of
trouble. Are laptops not considered to be 'portable devices' as in section
(b) below? I had been assuming that they did count as portable devices and
have been running it on a desktop and a laptop, but today as I was trying to
move everything over from my old laptop to my new one the activation support
guy (who was quite rude by the way) kept saying it can only be installed on
one computer and wouldn't let me activate it. Earlier I transferred Windows
XP Pro to my new laptop and the support guy for that was very nice and
helpful, so I know transferring from one device to another is possible.
From the EULA in the help menu:
1.1 Installation and use. You may:
(a) install and use a copy of the Software on one personal computer or
other device; and
(b) install an additional copy of the Software on a second, portable device
for the exclusive use of the primary user of the first copy of the Software.
