License question

We normally purchase Office 2007 standard edition for each user. I found I
could install it and activate it on more than one computer and no any problem
to use it later. My question is if one standard edition license can be
installed on more than one computer.

Any help will be appreciated!

The retail-version Office 2007 Standard Edition Software License Terms
allow you to install the software on one licensed device plus one
portable device for use by the same user. Installing the software on
different computers for different users violates sections 2b and 3a of
the Software License Terms.

Hi Garfield, thanks for your reply. I have two more questions. First, can I
change the product key after installing Office 2007? I use Symantec Ghost
image to clone new computer for new hire. Office 2007 is pre-installed in the
image. My ideal is changing the Office product key to a valid product key
after clone. How to change it? Second, Can you give me a suggestion for how
to keep tracking all Office 2007 product keys. Right now I just write down
the user's name on the install CD, however when the user leave company and we
need to re-install his/her OS, it's so time consuming and inconvenient to dig
out the original product key that used by that user before. Please advice!

Thanks again,

Lisa

See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=895456 "How to change the product
key for Office XP, for Office 2003, and for the 2007 Office system" and
maybe http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=924461 "How to change the
company name and user name in 2007 Office programs" too.

For each computer, I suppose you could use a utility such as:

Belarc Advisor
http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

Magical Jellybean Finder
http://www.magicaljellybean.com/beta/

to make a printout of software and keys installed on that computer, and
then put the printout in an envelope taped to the computer, and maybe
make a second printout that you keep in a binder in your office. Of
course, you'll need to somehow identify each computer (by room number,
or cubicle number, or employee name, or equipment inventory tag number,
or whatever). Belarc is free for personal use, but you should buy it if
you plan to use it in a corporate setting. Magical Jellybean is freeware.
