Licenses, CALs, and the like

Project Web Access requires CALs for users. SQL 2000
requires them. Windows Sharepoint Services too.

Does that mean you need one of each of these Client
Access Licenses before you can have the person legally
access the service?

Are the CALs that are required...concurrent user types or
for each user that touchs the service?

Any link that you can send me to with the answers?

You have two options for Project Server CALs: User and Machine.
A user CAL means that a single named person can access Project Server
from any machine they are at. A machine CAL means that any user that
sits down at that machine can use Project Server.

SQL Does User CALs but at a certain point it becomes cheaper to license
the processor on the server rather than doing CALs.

WSS does not require a CAL. If the user has a Windows Server 2003 CAL
then they are covered.

Yes, A user of Project Server would need to be covered under either
user or machine cals for Project Server, a user cal or a processor
licence for sQL and a CAL for Windows. But if you are a company that
already has databases on SQL then you likely have SQL Cals covering
many users already. Same for the Windows CALs.
