Licensing for External Users

I am a bit confused about what technologies are covered by the Project Server
External Connector.
I understand for Internal users I need Project Pro or Project Server CALS
I need Windows Server CALS (covered by our Core CALS package)
I need SQL CALS or a per processor license
and If I combine it with MOSS I need SharePoint CALS

But what about External Users, what exactly does the External Connector
license cover?
I assume it covers Project Server CALS, but does it cover Windows Server CALS?
Does it cover SQL server CALS? If I use MOSS do I need SharePoint CALS for
external users as well?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi I,

Generally I would agree with your statement. I am pretty sure that this only
covers your Project Server license. Since licensing can be most complicated,
I would suggest that you contact a license specialist ( your organisation may
have one) You can also find them on the Microsoft page.

I do have a meeting with our licensing specialists next week, but sometimes
it is best to be a bit forearmed so that I can ask the right questions.

The external connector provides a cost effective licensing option if you
have many external users, but if we have to pay for Windows CALS, SQL CALS,
SharePoint CALS as well, it suddenly becomes prohibitive
