I have/own Office 2003 Pro installed on my desktop at home and would like to
install it on my new laptop. Am I authorized to do this seeing as both
computers are for home/personal use or do I have to get another license for
the laptop?

If your Office 2003 is an OEM version, you cannot install it
on a laptop. If its a Retail Version, then yes you may
install it on your laptop.

How do I know if it is an OEM version? I got it as a gratuity from MS for
doing a research study.

I have an old XP system. I purchased a retail Office Pro and installed it.
I have now purchased a new Vista computer. How do I transfer the license
from the old XP system (which I'm throwing away) to the new Vista system?

TIA,
jim

JoAnn,

Thanks. Never thought it would be that simple. I assumed MS would check
the database and tell me the license was already assigned to another computer
and not activate the software. I'll give it a go.

cheers,
jim

Just install it. You may have to use the telephone activation but there's
nothing special about what you need to do.
