If I am setting up a business and want to put Microsoft Publisher onto 5
different computers, do I have to buy 5 different software packages or can I
buy the one pack and buy 4 extra licences. Or are you legally allowed to put
publisher onto as many computers as you want?

The product can be installed on one Desktop and
one Laptop for the purpose of the primary user.

The following excerpt is from the Pub 2003 EULA:

You either buy five individually-licensed copies, or a licensing kit with
five licenses.

See http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/default.mspx for details.

Open licensing looks like the best bet for you.

Thanks for the reply and all but there was no need to be so mean. This is my
first time to use this community group thing so how was I supposed to know
you can search through old posts. Also, I am'nt really setting up a business
in real life, it is an imaginary one for an IT assignment that i'm doing in
college and I thought by coming on to this website people wouldn't be so
ignorant to those who lack strong IT knowledge. Thank God there were some
other decent people on this community group who gave me some better advice
than yours!!

Compaq had one in the early eighties that was like a suitcase - a rather
full one too as I recall.
