Limit to Distribution List?

I have a user who is getting "an unknown error has occurred" when he tries to
send a message using a distribution list. He says the list is VERY large and
I wonder if that is the reason for the error.
He has given me no other detail on this error yet. I am waiting for a
reply.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Most mail servers place limits on the number of recipients a message can
contain. That is where the limit is imposed, not Outlook.
