Limitations of standalone mode

I had what I hope is a simple question. Is there any limitations of using
Project server in standalone mode? I have looked through the documentation
and can't find any listed of course other then the obvious number of users
that can reasonably supported.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Philip,
It very much depends what you consider under limitation. I would say that
the biggest limitation on a stand alone mode is performance. The more users
and more projects are uploaded and worked with you may experience performance
issues.

Do have have any other limitations in mind that you want to know about?

Nothing specific was just wondering if there are features for example that
are only available if you use with a seperate DB server. If I remember
correctly with PS 2003 if you installed standalone some of the features were
not available, that is the reason for my query. At present we are running PS
2003 with a seperate SQL 2000 server and a seperate sharepoint server but we
are not close to utilizing it as we are a small group that uses it, less then
50 users.

Marc, looks like I found my answer, not very well highlighted but since
standalone mode uses SQL 2005 express, using standalone mode you lose the
ability to create cubes since express does not have analysis services.
Anyways that helps me as we will go with a 2 server setup based on this, 1
server for project 2007 and connected to our central db which also will use
analysis services. Anyways thought I would share my thinking in case it helps
others.

Note that you can do a complete installation on a single server which will
utilise SQL2005, rather than express. As you rightly state, AS is not
available for Express, but, just FYI, SQL Reporting Services are.

I have installed a Stand alone server with SQL 05 and MSP 2007 and can not
seem to connect to the server when building a OLAP Cube for the first time.
Maybe this is not available on stand alone servers.
