Limited Functionality for Word 2007

Let's try this again.
Limited Functionality for Word 2007.

I am using a licensed, activated Office Home and Student version on Vista.
I have installed all the updates.

I can't edit documents. I can't access the Word Options tabs except for
General.

There WAS a home trial version on this machine when I bought it, but I've
had the machine and I installed my own version of Word less than 30 days ago.

The other Office apps work fine.

Also, Word does does not close properly anymore. Vista has to offer a dialog
asking me to force the shut down or force the shutdown and restart.

In an attempt to resolve this: I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office. I
have uninstalled the trial version download app.

I don't know if this is related but I.E.7 also frequently requires that the
system force Word to shut down.

Does "I have uninstalled the trial version download app." mean that you
uninstalled the trial version? If not, then that's the problem. The
"download app." part of the statement is confusing, and suggests that you
did not completely remove all aspects of the trial version.

Herb,

It means that after this problem arose, I uninstalled both my version and
the trial version. Then I reinstalled my version.

I am also have trouble with Word 2007/Vista. This is a new PC (60 days) with
the Office Small Business pre-installed. When trying to open existing
documents, only the application launches. I can open documents within Word
once Word is opened.

I can't use my mouse on the opened document, only the keyboard. I have used
two mice, wired and wireless.

Word also does not close properly anymore. A window pops up indidcating a
problem caused the program to stop working correct, click to close program.
Sometimes it will restart itself after the close.

All the other Office programs work fine. Updates, uninstalling and
reinstalling Office did not.
