Line alignment

When I resize a line from a previous presentation, it won't align with the slide or grid, even when dynamic guides, snap to grid and align with slide options are selected. The lines just go slightly off the perpendicular. Very frustrating. What can I do? Many thanks in anticipation of advice.

I also have the very same problem, the were sligthly tilted not completly
vertical or horizontal, had to go back to PPT 04, to make the lines
straight

¿Is this a bug?

Try holding down <SHIFT> key when resizing your lines to maintain alignment.
Let us know if this doesn't work.

Thanks,

My previous reply didn't contain the answer because the web-interface strips
out text between brackets. Here is my edited response that will actually
help:

Thanks, holding down the shift key enabled me to extend an existing line horizontally. It was driving me nuts!!! :)

Yes, that works for me too. Many thanks.

This also seems to solve the problem of editing points, which otherwise refuse to stay where they are placed. What has M/S done to create this mysterious problem, and is there some hidden benefit to such behavior?

I have the same problem. I am editing a slide I produced in the earlier version and when I try to extend the line, it is all cock eyed. I can move the entire line using the arrow key, but that doesn't help me align the line. This is a very big hassle and it's making my work extremely difficult.
