line placement

I am creating a resume and want to underline certain sections/headings. When
I draw a line I can not figure out how to have the same spaceing for each
heading? This happens when I use the line tool. Would it be easier to type
with underline and continue through i.e. past the text?? Very frustrating.
Tried using the line format pallete but changing the height and width
confuses me?? Any help is apprecitated. Thanks
