Line spacing??

L

Luke

Hello:
I have just started playing with frontpage and am
confused as to what happened.

I was typing some text and had a normal spacing between
lines. After a lot of text was input i started getting
what appeared to be double spaced type. I checked the
format paragraph and the line spacing is set to single.

Any time i hit return while typing, the next line ocuurs
at a spacing of about 2 lines down.

But if i type somehting in notepad and copy paste it into
front page the spacing between lines is normal.

what can i do to get the spacing back to normal?

Thanx
Luke

This is a common problem encountered by new users of
Front Page.

Try using Ctrl+Enter when you want single spacing.

Thanx for the reply.
ctrl+enter gives me the beep tone like when you hit a
button that's not allowed.

I tried shift though and seems to help.
but i have to do this for each line i type.

Is there a way to set it so i do not have to hit
shift+enter each time i want to move down a line?

Thanx

Should be Shift + Enter ;-)

That's right! Every single spaced line you want in FrontPage requires you
type Shift + Enter otherwise you will get double spacing.

If you find a way that doesn't require Shift + Enter to get single spacing,
please let me know.

Hello Luke,
Try this:
Put the curser anywhere in the first paragraph.
Click Format
Click Paragraph
(FP2003 doesn't have the right click facility for Format
Paragraph, bit of a bummer.)
Set Spacing
Before and After to 0
Click OK
Go to the next paragraph and do the same.
This will give you the spacing you want.
Cheers,
Bob

You can set the Paragraph properties to "0" spacing by selecting the
paragraph you're working with, choosing Format -- Paragraph and then adjust
the setting for both the before and after spacing to "0".

Now when you press the enter key, you will only skip on line instead of two
for the remainder of that paragraph.

If you're working in tables, this will need to be done for each individual
cell.
