I created a diagram using rectangles (basic shape) and lines. I saved the
Visio drawing as a .gif file. When I insert the "picture" into Word, the
lines appear to have different weights (thicknesses). I checked the
formatting of all the lines and they are all set to weight 1. Why, then, do
they display differently? Any thoughts or suggestions? I am using Visio
2000. Thank you.

I did not try saving the diagram as WMF. However, I did come up with a "work
around," which solved the problem. I started with a rectangle shape, which
had the line weight that I wanted. I completely collapsed the rectangle,
until it had the "shape" of a line. I used these "lines" to develop my org
charts. The "lines" retained and displayed the proper weight (appearance)
when copied and pasted into my documents. Next time I'll try your
suggestion, as my work around was very labor intensive. Thanks for
responding to my post.
