Linear regression errors

Hi,

I have a set of data. When I graph the data on a scatter
plot and add a linear trendline, I also get an equation of
the line along with R2. However, when I use the worksheet
functions CORREL SLOPE and INTERCEPT I get different
values than the ones on the graph. Why? Please post back

Thanks,
Mike S.

If you're using an XY (Scatter) chart type, you should get similar results
using either Insert Trendline or the worksheet functions.

If you're using a Line chart type, the Insert Trendline calculations will
use 1,2,3,... for the X values (instead of using the numerical X values),
and you'll get different results.
