Link Bar Size

I put a Link Bar on the left side of my page and I am trying to put text
beside the bar, however, it will not let me put the text right beside the
link bar. It seems to push my text down to the next available line. Is
there a way to resize the Link Bar or am I just doing something wrong.

Put the link bar in a table cell and your text in a cell next to it

Put your linkbar in a Table cell and the text in another cell.
