Link Bar Usage

Are Link Bars really used. They seem very limited, but it may be because I
don't understand them. While in the navigation view, I can include a page
or remove a page from the Link Bar. Short of that, I can't tell how to
customize them. What if I want to change the order that the link bar
presents? It seems to be more of a hassle.

Any other opinions?

To change the order, drag and drop in Navigation view.

To customize them: you can select from a lot of standard
choices for link bars. Even if you use Front Page themes,
you can use link bar choices that are from another Front
Page theme.

Thanks for the help, I changed the order and it works fine.
On the customization, I was not referring to the themes and colors.

What if I want a link on the Link Bar to point somewhere else...other than
the desired page?
Anyway to get into the details of that?

Don't be afraid to right click on stuff while using Front
Page.

In the Navigation view, right click on the top item in
the view (presumably your home page). Select "New page".
Name it something that will have meaning to vistors of
your site.

Still in Navigation view, right click on that new page
and select Properties from the popup menu. Select the
proper item from the "Link to" list of options at the
left hand side of the dialog box. For instance, if you
would like to link to another website, click on "Existing
file or web page" and follow the prompts.

Now that wasn't so hard was it?

Might I also suggest you purchase a book that covers your
version of Front Page. You might consider "Microsoft
Front Page Inside Out" by Jim Buyens. Jim also donates
his input to this newsgroup.
