Link Bars Not Showing Up

I published a web site to a host that does allow front page extensions. I
have the site posted fine. The link bars are not showing at all. They show
fine in preview and in the browser view on front page. I had them showing up
on the previous page I built. I took it off the server and replaced it with
this one. It's basically the same page, but with a few changes-now they are
not showing at all. There is no naviagation on the site without using the
back button. I have reloaded and am still not getting any satisfactory
results. It appears that they were never inserted. The host tech support is
unable to help me. Any idea why this might be happening? What do you mean
by make a site rather than a page? I have several pages but I thought that
was a site.

Well, now I'm not sure. I went to "new" and it says page or web, then I went
from there to create my different pages. I didn't choose one of their
templates if that's what you mean. The strange thing is that it was working
until I uploaded after deleting what we had. We used to have a different
host and decided that we would take advantage of the front page extensions.
We did a few test pages, which contained the link bars and a few other simple
things. It worked great. When we went back and got it all arranged like we
wanted it and then re-posted, it no longer shows up at all. There are no
link bars at all. It appears that I never added them. I didn't take them
off, we just added some other things.

What is the difference? I just went in and tried to created a new site using
an "empty web" and it gave me the same type of thing that I worked with
before. It looks identical to what I started with. After it gave me that, I
began creating pages. So would that be considered a site or just pages? And
if it worked a few hours before why wouldn't it work now?

When working with FP, you must always open or create a web first, then you would create or modify
your pages within that current open web.

I feel that must be what I did because everything else is working and the
link bars actually worked a little while before. I didn't go back and
re-open any pages or webs, just added to what I already had. I am going to
go back in a re check, though. Thanks. Any other suggestions you think of,
let me know.

Make sure that you open a web first, File Menu | Open Web / Site prior to opening any pages.
