Link copyright data

Is there somewhere I can find information about copyright restrictions as
they apply to copying links onto company websites (as opposed to merely
forwarding them to friends)?

You would need to contact each individual site to get that information.
It also has nothing to do with Microsoft Office.

There is nothing wrong in law to provide links to copy-right material as long
as you don't copy the contents of that website verbatim and make it look as
your own. For example, I can provide links to Microsoft website
(http://www.microsoft.com) but it would require Ms's permission to copy any
other information from their website and paste it in my own. Also, I can't
copy MS official logos without their permission. MS has got something called
"Logo Program" which authorizes us, Microsoft Partners, to copy their logos
in our own website.

As long as you give full credit to the owner and make it clear that it is a
third party material, I would say you have done sufficient to discharge your
duties and responsibilities.
