Link documents to tasks by Unique ID

When linking documents/issues to tasks in Sharepoint, the
Unique ID field automatically displays. This causes
confusion because the Unique ID number and task order
don't match the ID and order in the original project. Is
there a way to change the "Link the document to the
selected task" view and replace the Unique ID?

No because the ID can change with sorting. Unique ID is the only way to
make sure that the document links 'stick'.
