Link Picture to File - missing after restart

Hello NG,
I am using Word X and Word 2004 on OSX. I Have a approx. 70 pages
document. After restarting Word randomly some images do not link
anymore.
I have been inserting the pictures via insert, picture, from file and
disabled save with file since the Word Document would be pretty big
otherwise.

So why is this happening, have I done something wrong?

Should I just save the images with the wordfile - is that good for the
performance when working with the document?

Hi Wolfgang,

It's usually best to post Mac questions in a Mac group, but...

If you press Alt+F9 do you see IncludePicture fields in place of the
linked pictures? If yes, do the file paths look correct?

If they aren't, do you see a \* MergeFormatINET switch near the end of
the fields, by any chance?
