Link table via FTP

Hello,
I want to link to an external text file which is located on a FTP server.
When i double click on the file i get the message "Internet login failure"
Is there something that must be configured on the FTP server? Or Access
cannot link a FTP file?

Access can't link to a file located on an FTP server. You need to download
the file to your hard drive and link to that.
