link to directory or file

reevesworld

Inside of my Word document, I am creating a link to a directory on a network
drive using the following format:

"\\computer_name\share_name\path_to_directory\"

Then ctrl+click opens an explorer window to that directory (via My Network
Places). The problem is, there are batch files in the directory that I would
like to run from the new explorer window. However, those batch files have the
"My Computer" root directory or the "current (Word) file" directory as the
current directory instead of "\\computer_name\...to_directory\". This
prevents the batch files from running correctly. It does not appear to
interfere with the launching of Windows programs (I can launch ACCESS and
EXCEL files).

Does anyone know of a way to fix this? I have tried:

1- using the letter of the network drive instead of
computer_name\share_directory\
2- linking to the particular batch file instead of the directory
