linked pdf files

I have been having trouble with hyperlinks in Publisher 2002 - it seems to be
creating absolute rather than relative links. As a result, the pdf files I
would like people to be able to access are not available (the link points to
a location on my own computer/network drive).
As suggested in FAQs, I have removed everything from the master page.
However, the problem persists.
Any other suggestions?

Just look at how the pdf files are linked in your Maps section to see the
proper way to point to where you have uploaded the pdf files.

Are you loading the pdf file to the web server and then linking the
hyperlink to the files URL?

A common mistake is to browse to the file locally and hyperlink to it
resulting in the link (correctly) pointing to your local file.

Are you saying I should add the hyperlinks after saving the publisher file as
a web page? We worked previously with Publisher 2000, which was able to
update links made to files on our hard drive and would copy those pdf files
into the folder with all the other website files, to be uploaded to the
server.

One of many changes post 2000 is that external files are no longer included
in the Publisher web publication and thus uploaded for you. FAQ page -
