My db has appx 20 users. My db links to a table in another departments
folder. The link is only used for a combo box drop menu which allows my user
to select a name form their db to store in my db. There are times (I'm
guessing when the other department is in their own db) that my users get
"can't lock file". However, at those same times, I DON'T get "can't lock
file". So, apparently, I have some security permissions that my users don't
have. My users really have no reason to ever go into the other departments
db, I only determined the "can't lock file" while I was investing my problem.
My problem is, when the other departments file is "locked" for my users,
their linked drop down list doesn't work. Is there something I can change in
the property box of that combo so make it so that it's read only and it
doesn't matter if the files is "locked". I really don't want to give my
whole department full permission to their database for one simple drop list
