Linked Table

If I add a new field/Columnin the table to the back-end of a split database,
would that new field/column show in the linked table on the fron-end? If not,
how do I add a new column without breaking the link?

The "link" in the front-end is a description for Access to use to know how
to find, what to look for...

When you move the cheese in the back-end, the front-end doesn't know you did
that.

You need to refresh the link so the front-end knows how to find, what to
look for...

Use the Linked Table manager to refresh that link.

In my experience, even though the linked table manager may think it's fixed
the link there are often wierd errors. It's probably better to delete the
table icon in the frontend (the link) and use File... Get External Data...
Link to reconnect to the redesigned table.

There's no harm do deleting the link and recreating it.

The reason I worded my question that way that I did is becuse the "refresh"
was not working. I refreshed the tables link several times but the new
column did not show in the front-end. I will just deleted the link and create
it again.

I think your solution is the best one because I had, prior to posting the
question, refreshed the link tables and the new column in the back-end still
did not show in the front-end.
