linking cell ranges

is it possible and how do i link a range of cells on one
worksheet, to a range of cells on another worksheet, in
the same workbook. but only if a certain condition is
met, ie in one sheet there are the weeks of the month and
the totals, these are printed and changed each month. how
do i get the totals linked to the correct monthly column
on the other worksheet which is broken into the months of
the year. basically i need a link that will correspond
to the correct month when the date is changed in the
first worksheet. is this possible how can i do it. if any
one can help i would be very thankful.

Not sure if this is exactly what you want but it might
give you the idea...

Sheet 1 has the months in B1:M1. Column A has the
categories -- Sales, COGS, whatever.

Sheet 2 has the data. Column A also has the categories.
Cell B1 has the current month. Cells B2 down have the data
for the month.

On sheet 1, cell B2, type:

=IF(Sheet2!$B$1=Sheet1!B$1,Sheet2!$B2,"")

and copy down and across for all the categories and
months. This will show the current month's data on the
first spreadsheet. If you are keeping a yearly total,
you'll need to hard-code the data after you link it
because it will be erased if you replace the data on Sheet
2
