Linking contacts in BCM 2010

I provide services to individuals and families. I have imported all my
contacts into BCM. Is there any way to link a husband and wife so that when
I update, add appointments, or meeting notes to one of them that it will
update both of them?

If everything is going to be updated to both, do you really need two
contacts? It seems to me to be easier if you just made a single
contact, and added extra fields like "Spouse's Name" "Spouce's
Birthday" etc.

As far as I know, there are no features like what you speak of.
