I dont know if this is possible, but if anyone has any suggestions on how the
following can even slighly be acheived, I would be highly appreciative:

My database is mainly used as a means for a user to create an order from a
list of products, and then to make a report based on those selections. This
file has gotten bigger than expected.

For future reference, all reports must be saved, preferably in a place where
they cannot be inadvertanly changed. For this, I was thinking of exporting
reports to a separate database, so the 'main' database will only contain the
master copies.

HOWEVER, orders rarely stay exactly the same from order date to finish date.
For this reason, I am hoping to find a way to 1) export reports to an
alternate file for safe keeping, 2)maintain relationships with master data
base if order is changed, and 3)do this in a way that will use minimal space
on the computer.

My confusion is mainly stemming from the fact that its almost as if I feel I
need a way to turn the relationship on/off. I.E. when the report is in 'safe
keeping' mode, and other orders are being processed, I do not want the report
in question to be changed. (so I want to 'turn off' the relationship).
However if the report needs to be changed, I want the relationship mainted. I
know that copying and pasting the entire database would accomplish this, but
would take up WAY to much space due to the number of orders being processed.
Any ideas?
