Linking PDF files to Publisher 2003

I have read how to link pdf files and this is what I was told to do:
you have to upload the pdf files in the same relative folder as you have
them locally on your machine.
You should create a subfolder to your web folder with all your pdf files and
then upload the whole folder to your remote site.
The link on the remote site must be the same as the link locally or they
won't work.
You can't have a link to a file on your hard drive out on the WWW. The link
needs to be simply from one folder to another on the web.
It didn't work. HELP!!!

You can write relative links to your PDF files, but sometimes it is easier
to use absolute links.

If you create a folder on your web host server called "downloads", alongside
and at the same directory level as the index.htm file and the index_files
folder, and upload your pdf files to that folder, then the link to one of
those files would be:
http://yourdomain.com/dowloads/yourfile.pdf
