Linking projects

I was wondering if there was a way to link projects togther? I am looking at
this from a production scheduling point of view. I want to be able to
schedule work orders as projects and then tie them together. Is this
possible?

B. Cargo,
Yes, but Project isn't the best application for production type
scheduling although I don't have any alternate suggestions.

Individual project files are best linked using external
predecessors/successors. There are a couple different ways to set them
up but the easiest is by first creating a dynamic master
(Insert/Project) and then selecting appropriate tasks in each subproject
and hitting the link icon. For more information, see the Project help
file.

Follow these steps to create link between tasks in two projects:
a) Open both projects.
b) From the "Window" menu select new window.
c) Highlight both of the projects that you want to create a link between,
click OK
d) Now select the two tasks you want to link and click Link Button
e) Save the individual files (go to them using the window command and
selecting
the project. -- Note do not save the project window (master) you have used
to link
f) Then close the master project. -- Do not save.

Hope this helps.
