Linking table of contents to document

I am trying to figure out how to link from a page # in a TOC to the actual
page in the document. Can anyone help me? (please keep the explanation
simple)

This is automatic. Page numbers in TOCs in all versions of Word are
hyperlinked. In Word 2000 and above, the entire entry is also hyperlinked by
default (in Word 2002 and 2003, this can be disabled in the TOC dialog;
disabling it in Word 2000 requires editing the TOC field). In Word 2002 and
2003, hyperlinks are not clickable by default (you must use Ctrl+click), but
this behavior can be changed via the Edit tab of Tools | Options.
