Linking Tables Access 2007

R

Roger Bell

I have a data base on the file server and a copy on the remotes. I wish to
link the tables from the remotes to the server. When I start the process
through External Data, Access Button, Import Data and browse for the data
base, I do not see the listings for acccdb file extensions, only files of
type "text".

Any ideas on how to resolve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

With Thanks

Hi Roger,

What version of Access are you using? Can you open the remote
databases directly? What version of database are they?

Thanks Clifford.
The version is Access 2007 Part of Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007
(12.0.6211.1000)SP1 MSO (12.0.0213.1000)

The remote data bases can be opened directly. They are all Access 2007 data
bases.
Thanks for any further help

Hi Roger,

That is strange. What shows in the "File name:" box of the "File Open"
dialog? How about the "Files of type:" box? If you change the "File name:"
to "*.accdb" are you able to accomplish the linking?

Clifford, I just realised I have been clicking on the Button to the right of
the Access Logo instead of the Logo itself. That's what you get for being a
novice. Thanks again and sorry if I have wasted your time.
